The Hype Machine
Alright, we have our favourite music blogs we listen to and it collects our selections and gathers other possible music we may like. Jango and Last.fm are two that are looking cool at the moment. Here is one I just came across moments ago, called The Hype Machine. It is slightly different from Jango and Last.fm. Those who listen to the music and then click the ‘add to favourite’ or ‘add to playlist’… Hype is where you search, listen, heart the artist’s tracks, and read the posters reviews on why they like the selected artist; then you can comment on their individual blog.
Hype quotes “The Hype Machine keeps track of what music bloggers write about. We handpick a set of kickass music blogs and then present what they discuss for easy analysis, consumption and discovery. This way, your odds of stumbling into awesome music or awesome blogs are high!”
They quote farther – “We are creating tools that empower independent voices that write about music. Rather than picking and writing about music ourselves, we think a select group of passionate people can do a better job, so we amplify their posts and the audio they choose. This group will produce more vibrant culture and conversation than a huge social mob, or a rigid hierarchy of editors. Oh yeah, music runs in our veins. You already figured that out though.”
I’ve been trying it out for the past hour, I’m finding a lot great bands… Vamps, although the only thing it found on them; was their latest song “Love Addict” for that I was happy. It found one song of Tokio Hotel, understandable about that Vamps and Tokio Hotel aren’t well known in America….yet!!!! Give it time my fellow music lovers! I did found several listings of Linkin Park tracks, so that is what my ears have been listening to until now. I didn’t find many indie bands, still understandable; they don’t many accomplishments yet, they need more fans writing and spreading the word of the band.
So you indie music critic out there and anyone who just wants to listen to great music, I recommend you giving The Hype Machine a try.
The Hype Machine tracks an array of MP3 blogs, so if you post a link that contains MP3 links, it’ll add those links to its database and displays them. Tracks can not be downloaded however, you can preview them; there’s a play button to each song.
If you enjoy the song, click the heart and it’ll be added into your data. If you like a specific song, you can visit the blog of the user that posted the song and view other songs they’ve posted…chances are you may like those as well.
You can purchase CDs and individual tracks by using the Amazon and iTunes” links that appear next to most tracks. Each purchase you make supports both the artists and the Hype Machine. Please buy and enjoy.

Well since I have already moved everything from their site to WordPress, there is nothing left for me to do, except for to just delete the links that are uploaded. Also, since they are closing I will close our yahoo email account that’s associated with our MG site which we haven’t used since sometime last year.
That’s it for now, still working on the changes and updates; stay tuned!
We’re still here…what’s going on?
I’m still working on what I said I was doing, also I’m still purging a lot of stuff. I officially gave the Tumblr to Brown Wolf. to run; you will see more changes during the next few weeks. Brown Wolf updates the Road Foodie, more to come there; keep your eyes glued.
The chats, yeah I know guys; sorry we’ve missed a few weeks the chats are still going on, I am planning to officially move them to Saturdays around the same time – 9PM more on that later.
I think that is about it, if you have any other questions/suggestions let me hear them. Yeah if you are pissed at me….let me hear that too LOL!!!!
New Chat Room!
Well it was long in the making but finally we decided to give a chat room another try. We had been finding small chats and inviting selected members to join in…afterwards deleting the link so little pricks would not attack when no one is in the rooms.
During our last chat, members and non-members were discussing the possibilities of having another chat; one that was easier to load and had the basic chat features. So we asked in an announcement and thanks to all who replied on some really cool chats, we found one that looks to be a winner. We have not set a permanent time yet, the time is on a trial run more on that later. (Thanks January, you rock; one of our keychains is in the mail for your help).
An announcement will be sent out when the official chat is scheduled. During this weekend and next week, we will be popping in and out trying it out; so if you stop by…stay a bit and chat see how you like it…of course you are welcomed to give feedback. http://bmousagenreforum.runboard.com

Roaming and researching
I am still doing the promo travelling thing, this time round it has been very interesting…. fun, fun, fun, until daddy takes my T-bird away haha! Finally got a rest today and doing some research, a few weeks ago a Rock band from Madrid, Moebio, requested a listen to their music. To say the least, I was mesmerized by their intense sound, power-hitting to the deepest of the soul guitars and smooth, straight-forward idealistic vocals from the lead, Hector Geronimo. My head simultaneously started swaying instantly the music began. Basically, Moebio’s music you can feel and see every lyric. Check them out. http://www.moebioweb.com and watch some of their videos on http://www.youtube.com/moebio
At the moment, I am listening to Samy Deluxe; truly, truly amazing Hip-Hop rapper. Check his stuff out – http://www.samy-deluxe.de
On ending note – thanks to all who came for the selected chat tonight/this morning; good turn out, special thanks to the ones who were friends of friends who were friends of friends who came; you guys rock.
I’m still working on a lot of reviews and such, keep watching for the new goodies.
That’s it, my dry cough is back I need a half of a bottle of cough suppressant and get at least 2 hours of sleep.
Updates and Cancellations
I don’t have to say it… weird weather huh? Warm, mid-hot days, cool/cold nights and everyone is visiting their doctors with dry coughs, and mild to heavy wheezing and sneezing including me. However, it didn’t stop my fun; MG’s new friend, Gustav, from Germany (1dopeboy on the forum) came back to the US to celebrate the Super Bowl. Earlier, my uncle surprised me with tickets to the Grammy’s so off we went; what a time that was, a blast and all those Duo’s. Well, I’m roaming this month but I will try to continue to update the sites. The top 50 are done and are uploaded for good this time, let’s hope. If you find a link that is a dud let me know. In case you haven’t seen it yet, the Artist of the Month for February is posted; I am working on some reviews. BROOMFILLER interview is cancelled for now.

Updates and future happenings
What a month this has been so far, I can’t believe it is almost gone and we are about to welcome in February; then again this is the 21st century…yes I can imagine it is almost February. I never really felt like it is 2009 yet, however I haven’t written 08 on anything so that’s a good sign that my brain is in 09 mode…correct? LOL!
The updates are going excellent, the only thing that is giving me problems is the Top 50, the links seem to have a mind of their own and keep becoming dead and alive. I think I have fixed the problem and will be loading that on the MG forum sometime this week, I’m hoping for today…fingers crossed Lord’s Will.
Yesterday, I received Russell Stafford album CD ‘Between U & I’ in the mail; I’ve already started the notes for a review. If you haven’t got his new album…question? What are you waiting for? To me, it is worth every penny and it wasn’t many pennies to purchase the CD. http://www.cdbaby.com/russellstafford2. SO ORDER YOUR COPY TODAY!
Other reviews to come is one on Al’Azifoon, they are a cool-hip band that is dedicated in Middle-Eastern music. They are worth the listen, trust me; http://www.alazifoon.com and check out in the ‘song list’ link – recommendations “Itmakhtari”,”Andah Aleik”.
